Tracking My Mood is designed with privacy as a core principle, not an afterthought. We believe your mental health data is deeply personal and should remain completely under your control.

What Data We Collect

• Usage analytics or behavioural data
• Tracking or advertising cookies
• Third-party data or social media information

Free Users (Local Storage)

Free users' data is stored locally in your web browser using IndexedDB and localStorage. This includes:

• Mood tracking entries (mood, energy, stress, anxiety, sleep quality)
• Journal entries
• Self-care activity logs
• Mood selfie photos
• Your preferences and settings

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it.

Premium Users (Cloud Storage)

Premium users who create an account have chosen to store their data securely on our servers. We collect:

• Email address (for authentication and account recovery)
• Mood tracking entries, journal entries, and self-care logs
• Subscription and payment information (processed securely by Stripe)

This data is encrypted, stored securely, and never sold or shared with third parties.

Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in). These are exempt from consent requirements under UK/EU law. We do not use any tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.

How Your Data is Protected

Free Users

• Local-only storage: Data is stored in your browser's secure storage
• No transmission: Your data is never sent over the internet
• No account required: Use the app without providing any personal information
• You're in control: Export or delete your data at any time from Settings

Premium Users

• AES-256 encryption: All stored data is encrypted at rest
• TLS 1.3: All data transfers are encrypted in transit
• GDPR compliant: Full compliance with UK and EU data protection regulations
• Secure infrastructure: Enterprise-grade servers with regular security audits
• You're in control: Export or delete all cloud data at any time from your account

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Stripe: Payment processing for premium subscriptions. Stripe handles all payment data securely and is PCI-DSS compliant. We never see, store, or have access to your credit card information - it goes directly to Stripe.

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Hosting

The Tracking My Mood website and application are hosted on secure servers. Free users' personal data remains entirely on their device. Premium users' data is stored securely on our servers.

Data Export and Deletion

You have complete control over your data:

• Export: Download all your data as a JSON file from Settings
• Delete: Permanently remove all data with one click from Settings
• Clear browser data: Free users can remove data by clearing browser site data
• Account deletion: Premium users can request full account and data deletion

Children's Privacy

Tracking My Mood is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will delete that information promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Our commitment to protecting your privacy and never selling your data will never change.
