What is Tracking My Mood?
Tracking My Mood is a mental health app that helps you understand your emotional patterns. By logging your mood, energy, stress, and sleep daily, you can discover what affects how you feel and make positive changes.
How do I install the app on my phone?
iPhone: Open Safari, go to trackingmymood.com, tap the Share button, then "Add to Home Screen".
Android: Open Chrome, go to trackingmymood.com, tap the menu (three dots), then "Add to Home Screen" or "Install App".

Do I need to create an account?
No! You can start tracking immediately without an account. Your data is stored locally on your device. Creating an account is optional and allows you to sync across devices and access premium features.
Mood Tracking
How do I log my mood?
Tap the + button at the bottom of the screen or go to the Home tab. Use the sliders to rate your mood, energy, stress, anxiety, and sleep quality on a scale of 1-10. Add optional notes, then tap "Save Entry".
When should I log my mood?
We recommend logging once or twice daily - perhaps in the morning and evening. Consistency is more important than frequency. Even logging a few times a week can reveal valuable patterns.
What do the different metrics mean?
- Mood: Your overall emotional state (1 = very low, 10 = excellent)
- Energy: How physically and mentally energized you feel
- Stress: Your current stress level (1 = calm, 10 = very stressed)
- Anxiety: Feelings of worry or unease
- Sleep Quality: How well you slept last night
Can I add a mood selfie?
Yes! When logging your mood, you can tap the camera icon to take a selfie. These photos are stored locally on your device and can help you visually track how you look when feeling different ways.
Journal
How do I write a journal entry?
Go to the Journal tab, give your entry a title, write your thoughts in the content area, optionally select a mood tag, and tap "Save Entry". You can also use the microphone button to dictate your entry using speech-to-text.
Can I use voice to write?
Yes! Tap the microphone icon next to the text area to start voice dictation. Speak clearly and your words will be transcribed. Tap again to stop recording. This feature requires microphone permission.
Can I edit or delete journal entries?
Currently, entries cannot be edited after saving. You can view all your previous entries in the Journal tab. We're working on adding edit and delete functionality.
Meals & Nutrition
How do meal recommendations work?
Go to the Meals tab and use the filter pills to find meals based on your current mood, meal type, prep time, and dietary requirements. Each meal includes ingredients, instructions, and nutritional benefits.
How do I save favourite meals?
Tap the heart icon on any meal card to add it to your favourites. Use the heart filter button at the top to show only your favourites. Favourites are saved locally on your device.
What dietary filters are available?
You can filter by: Vegan, Gluten-Free, and Dairy-Free. Multiple filters can be combined to find meals that meet all your dietary requirements.
Insights & Analytics
How do I view my insights?
Go to the Insights tab to see your mood trends over time. You can switch between 7-day, 30-day, and 90-day views to see different patterns.
What are correlations?
Correlations show relationships between different metrics. For example, you might discover that your mood is better on days when you sleep well, or that exercise reduces your stress levels.
How much data do I need for insights?
You'll start seeing basic charts after just a few entries. For meaningful correlations and patterns, we recommend at least 2 weeks of regular tracking.

How much does Premium cost?

How do I sign in?
Tap the account icon (👤) in the top right corner. Enter your email address and we'll send you a magic link - no password needed! Click the link in your email to sign in instantly.
What happens to my data if I don't upgrade?
Your data is stored in your browser. Without an account, entries older than 7 days are automatically removed. With a free account, you keep 14 days. Only Premium keeps your full history stored securely online.
How do I manage my subscription?
Tap the account icon, then "Manage Subscription" to access the Stripe customer portal where you can update payment methods, view invoices, or cancel.
Can I get a refund?
Yes! UK consumers have a 14-day cooling off period for a full refund. Simply email support@trackingmymood.com within 14 days of purchase. See our Refund Policy for details.
Troubleshooting
My data isn't showing up
- Make sure you're connected to the internet
- Try refreshing the page
- If you're signed in, try signing out and back in
- Clear your browser cache and try again
The app isn't working offline
Tracking My Mood works best with an internet connection. Some features like viewing saved data work offline, but you'll need to be online to sync or use all features.
Voice input isn't working
- Make sure you've granted microphone permission
- Check that your device microphone is working
- Voice input works best in Chrome and Safari
- Try speaking clearly in a quiet environment
I didn't receive my magic link email
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Make sure you entered your email correctly
- Wait a few minutes and try again
- Contact support if the problem persists
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings and look for the "Export Data" option. Your data will be downloaded as a JSON file that you can save for backup or use in other applications.
